Web. 26 May 2015. This primary source is a speech given by King George VI in which
he asked the British people for extraordinary sacrifice and vigilant prayer for
the success of the D-Day invasion. I used this source to show that King George
highly encouraged the involvement of his people and for them to be aware of the
current issues. He begged them to drop everything, no matter how old or young
they are and go out and fight for their country. I used this source in the page
in which I describe King George's impacts on WWII and the way in which he
wanted his people to react to the casualties of the war. In addition, this
speech explains that the King wanted his people to act immediately to come out
of the war victorious, and the people all followed this command with great
loyalty. I used this in my tab describing King George's instantaneous effect on
the war efforts.

This is a primary source diary entry from King George VI
regarding the German invasion of France. In this diary, George explained
how critical the famine and lack of ammunition in France truly was. He
also expresses concern for the possibility that he may have to send the British
Expeditionary Force back to England. He was appalled by having to command this
movement, but he believed it was coming down to be their last option. I used
this source in my tab describing King George's involvement World War II.

Britain at Buckingham Palace. This photo was taken shortly
after Queen Elizabeth's coronation. I used this source to show King
George's loyalty to his people in my tab about King George's involvement in
WWII.

of World Biography. Detroit: Gale, 1998. Biography in Context. Web. 26 May 2015. This is a secondary source of a biography documenting the life of
King George VI in an Encyclopedia. In this source, King George's early life
with his education at the Royal Naval College and his eventual graduation as a
pilot. This article also explained his struggle with a speech impediment
which was a reoccurring obstacle for him all throughout his
life, and his nervousness as a child due to the high expectations of his
father (King George IV) . I used this source in the tab in which I
explained his life before the war.

services of George VI. It is explained that despite the fact that he finished
at the bottom of his class, King George went on to serve in the Royal Navy as a
shipman and in the Royal Air Force as a pilot. I used this to aid in describing
King George's contribution to the military for the country of Britain. In
addition, this article included information on all of the hardships George
faced as a king; such as the transition from an empire to a commonwealth of
nations and the restoration of the popularity of the monarchy. I used this when
explaining King George VI's legacy.

N. pag. Print. This is an encyclopedia page which contains a
detailed explanation of King George's life, including how he reacted upon
the start of WWII as the King of Britain. The page describes how he rose
superbly to the occasion, attempting to calm the citizens with acts of love and
gestures that even stilled the meanest critics. The royal couple met regularly
with their subjects to discuss the progression of the war and the Blitz. I used
this information in the tab explaining why King George felt the need to take
care of his people and be involved in war. I also used this source to describe
King George's immediate impact on the war by making sure the people of the
Britain are at ease during war time.
